LCHS Additions and Renovations Design Begins
New building portions will consist of:
- 3-story classroom addition
- New Vocational classrooms
- New Auditorium
- New Media Center
- New Athletics Gymnasium
- New Swimming Pool
Portions of the existing building to remain
- Freshmen Center
- Field House
The schedule for the design phase of the project is still being determined. The project will be phased in construction to allow school to remain in session in the facility. Meetings with key personnel to review design detail will be scheduled in the next few months to verify expectations are being met.
Protsman Elementary School
Protsman Elementary School will be replaced with a new school facility on the same property. Existing schools are being visited as potential prototypes for the new school design.
The existing elementary school will remain in session as construction of the new elementary school takes place behind the building. After the new building is constructed, students will be relocated to their new facility and the existing building will be demolished.
Initial meetings with staff and community members will proceed in the next few months. Construction for the project is expected to begin in late summer 2012.
Clark Middle School Track and Athletic Fields
As part of the expansion of Lake Central High School, a new track will be constructed at the Clark Middle School starting this spring. The new track will be the temporary home of LCHS activities until the project is completed. Schedule activities are still being ironed out for the project at this time.
